It's a shame the 1X died and not the OG unit but whatevs. Sounds like Hard drive borked everythiing so I will not shed a tear for the lack of platter style HDDs in the next gen machines. I'm using my OG X1 to finish the game I was playing (The Ezio Collection so there's no appreciable different in quality) and then just PS4-ing until new consoles come out. I got about 2 more weeks use out of the machine till it's given up completely, just giving an error message on start up (in low res, which is new) and a factory reset won't begin (just the same error message whenever the machine starts up). I formatted the hard drive correctly, did the Offline Update with the OSU1 file, plugged the hard drive back into my computer and I put the bootanim.dat onto the drive. I followed a tutorial on how to format and replace my hard drive. when I turned off automatic updates, the console was working normally apart from not being able to access the store. I replaced my HDD in my Xbox One X because the old one had gone bad. After a few factory resets, I noticed that the update queue had two different Microsoft store icons trying to update. After googling, I tried everything (power cycling, factory resets) before I finally got it working but downloads would get stuck and just stop. I hadn't played it for a bit (TLOU/ GoT) and when i started it up again a few weeks back it hang on a black screen wheen booting or spit out an error message. My One X seems to have dies for good this past weekend. It's pretty much a launch Xbox, purchased in 2015, so before the S revision. But once I play Xbox 360 games the fan picks up immediately, so I have no idea what's going on. If it's any help, I barely hear the Xbox One at all when playing Xbox One games. Severe framerate dips, textures low quality/not loading in, weird random graphical stuttering, smeared textures and I had the same problems with Halo and Gears 5 (again, excuse the communtary): I know State of Decay 1 has some jank, but it's not supposed to run this bad (excuse the commentary, I was talking to some friends on PS4 party chat while doing this): It finally was able to update again but everything ran horribly. So I turned the console off, unplugged the power adapter to "power cycle" it and plugged it back in. It couldn't even check for system updates. Oddly enough Xbox 360 BC games work, but nothing else. Designing the new boot screen for the Xbox Series X was a challenge for Microsoft, according to a recent interview. The boot screen was revealed as a teaser for the Xbox 20/20 event which was live-streamed earlier today, showcasing a large number of games for the companys upcoming next-generation console. Nothing would update, store fronts didn't work, and the Xbox One games I tried (State of Decay 1, Halo: MCC, Gears 5, Hellblade) none of them got past the loading screen. So at first nothing Xbox One software wise was working. I admittingly haven't turned on my Xbox One is about a month, but doing so this week it was acting incredibly weird.
